My business name has been cancelled, how can I re-register it?

If ASIC have cancelled your business name within the last 6 months, due to failure to pay the renewal fee, then you can apply to have the business name restored. Note you cannot restore a business name where the holder directly applied to cancel the business name, in this event, you'll be able to register the business name as a new registration, usually after 6-9 months of it being cancelled. For these 6 months after the name has been cancelled, ASIC will not allow anyone else to register the name, instead keeping it reserved for you to have restored.

The fee to manually restore a business name is $297 and includes a 3-year registration term. Please let our support team know if you'd like to proceed and we'll get an invoice sent over to you accordingly.

Once the invoice is paid, we'll then email you a Letter of Authority - (PDF Copy) that you will need to complete, sign and send back for processing. Please note that it needs to be signed by the business name holder (No electronic signature allowed)

After we have received your signed Letter of Authority, we'll then move forward with your business name restoration which takes anywhere between 15-20 business days to finalise and will email you a confirmation and new certificate of registration for your records.

The restoration process involves sending the completed PDF form to ASIC requesting for restoration to occur. In this enquiry you should include:

- The business name
- The details of the business name holder
- Email address
- Phone number
