Your TFN can usually be found on various documents such as a payment summary from an employer, an income tax assessment or any written communication from the ATO.
If you can’t recall your TFN or don’t know if you have one, it is best to call the ATO directly. Unfortunately, we do not have the authority to contact the ATO on your behalf as the ATO will need to verify your identity.
The ATO can be contacted on 13 28 61 Monday – Friday between 8am and 6pm. If you are located overseas they can be contacted on +61 6216 1111 Monday – Friday between 8am and 5pm.
